Velotric GoMad

Built to carry, the Velotric GoMad is a compact cargo e-bike on 20 x 4.0 in fat tires, with an integrated rear rack rated for about 80 kg. An optional second battery lifts the brand's range figure to about 241 km.

• Rear hub motor: 750 W rated, 1300 W peak, 85 Nm of torque, with a throttle and switchable torque or cadence sensing.
• 801.6 Wh removable battery: 48V 16.7Ah with Samsung/LG 21700 cells, rated by the brand for up to 121 km on pedal assist or 80 km on throttle; the second battery is not included.
• Fat tires and front suspension: 20 x 4.0 in Kenda tires that resist punctures, and an RST hydraulic fork with 100 mm of travel and lockout.
• Brakes and gears: Tektro hydraulic discs (203 mm front rotor, 180 mm rear) and Shimano 8-speed gearing, 11-34T.
• Speed: assist is set to 32 km/h out of the box; Custom Mode adjusts it from 19 to 45 km/h where permitted, by the brand's figure.
• Weight: 35 kg with the battery, 30.4 kg without it.

Who it suits

Riders who haul groceries and gear, or a passenger once a passenger kit (not included) is fitted, on city streets, gravel and snowy roads (see riding fat tires in winter).
