A long season at the southern edge
The Essex Region Conservation Authority calls its region the most southern part of Canada. Environment Canada climate normals (1991–2020) for Windsor show an annual daily average of 10.1 °C, just 43.0 days a year with a high at or below 0 °C, 139.8 cm of snowfall and only 31.3 days with 5 cm or more of snow on the ground. July averages 23.2 °C. From those normals, by our own arithmetic, the daily average stays above 5 °C from April through November.
Routes worth the ride
- Windsor Loop: an approximately 50 km circuit around the city's perimeter, starting and ending at Malden Park and the Gordie Howe International Bridge Trailhead, and part of the EC Way, the Great Lakes Waterfront Trail and the Trans Canada Trail.
- Riverfront Trail: 5.17 km of bike lane, multi-use trail and signed route with Detroit River views, from Ambassador Park to Centennial Park and Dieppe Gardens.
- Ganatchio Trail: an 8 km two-lane paved pathway, plus the 3.25 km Rotary-Ganatchio Little River Extension from Riverside Drive to Forest Glade.
- Rt. Hon. Herb Gray Parkway: approximately 20 km of trails on the City's parks map.
All four come from the City of Windsor, which says multi-use trails are cleared once a storm has ended.
Which bikes fit
A lap of the Loop makes battery size the spec to check. The Taubik Vista 26 has a 706 Wh Samsung battery (Taubik lists up to 100 km), an ultra-low step-through frame, 26 x 1.9 in CST commuter tires and a torque sensor. For short hops downtown, the Velotric Tempo weighs 17.7 kg and rides on 700 x 42c Kenda puncture-resistant gravel tires with a Shimano 8-speed. Compare more commuter e-bikes. Windsor holds Bronze status as a Bicycle Friendly Community from Share the Road Cycling Coalition.

Questions
Do you deliver electric bikes to Windsor, Ontario?
Yes, at no charge: shipping is free across Canada. Your bike can go to your home or to a local bike shop you choose and book for assembly. Somebody needs to sign for it on arrival, and P.O. boxes are not an option, so give a street address.
Can I see an e-bike in person in Windsor before I buy?
Not with Fast Ebikes. We sell online only and have no Windsor showroom, no test rides and no pickup. Our product pages carry the figures each brand provides, like battery Wh, motor, tires and frame, so you can narrow the choice from home.
How long does an e-bike order take to arrive in Windsor?
Expect processing within 1–3 business days of confirmation, then 2–7 business days for shipping, depending on where you are. We email the tracking number as soon as the order is on its way. Tracking can sit for up to 5 days without a new scan on long routes.
Which e-bike suits Windsor's mild winters and the Windsor Loop?
With only 31.3 days a year of 5 cm or more of snow on the ground (Environment Canada, 1991–2020), a commuter or step-through bike works much of the year. For the roughly 50 km Loop, prioritize battery size, such as the 706 Wh battery on the Taubik Vista 26.
Where can I get my e-bike assembled or repaired in Windsor?
At a local bike shop you pick. Ship the order straight to that shop and book the assembly with them; we don't offer repairs ourselves. If the bike comes to your home, take photos of the box before you open it.
