A hardtail trail bike with an Aventon-designed A100 mid-drive, the Ramblas pairs 100 Nm of torque with a 130 mm RockShox coil fork and SRAM 12-speed gearing. It is set up for climbs, loose descents and gravel, and the brand says it works on city streets as well.
Highlights
- A100 mid-drive: 250 W rated (sustained), 750 W peak and 100 Nm of torque, with three assist levels you can tune in the Aventon app.
- 708 Wh battery: 36V with LG 21700 cells, rated by the brand for up to 145 km.
- Fork and frame: a RockShox coil fork with 130 mm of travel (35 Silver R on Borealis, Psylo Silver R on Aurora) on a 6061 single-butted aluminum hardtail.
- Brakes and drivetrain: SRAM DB8 4-piston hydraulic discs with a 200 mm front and 180 mm rear rotor; SRAM NX Eagle 1x12 with an 11–50T cassette.
- Tires and dropper: 29 x 2.4 in Maxxis Rekon on sizes M to XL, 27.5 x 2.4 in on size S, and a dropper seatpost with 150 mm of travel (125 mm on S).
- Speed and load: assist set to 32 km/h and adjustable to 45 km/h by the brand's figure; 136 kg maximum load; 24.5 kg bike weight.
Who it suits
Trail riders who want a mid-drive that works with their gears on steep climbs, and riders who want one bike for weekday streets and weekend dirt (see hub motor vs mid-drive).
Good to know
- Range is the brand's figure; speed, hills, rider weight, tire pressure and cold all change it. How to estimate your range.
- Ships free anywhere in Canada (no P.O. boxes).
- No throttle: the Ramblas is pedal assist only, and Aventon offers no throttle for it.
