A carbon front triangle keeps the Current EXP at 23.9 kg (size M, without pedals), and Aventon pairs that frame with a RockShox Lyrik Select fork, a Super Deluxe Select+ shock and SRAM Maven brakes. Power comes from the Ultro X mid-drive and an 800 Wh battery.
Highlights
- Frame and travel: carbon front triangle with a 6061 aluminum rear, 150 mm of fork travel and 140 mm at the rear from a 210x55 shock.
- Ultro X mid-drive: 110 Nm, or 120 Nm in Boost; 750 W peak output and 850 W peak in Boost, by Aventon's rating (see hub motor vs mid-drive).
- Shifting: SRAM S1000 Transmission 12-speed with an AXS shift pod and a 10-52T cassette.
- Brakes: SRAM Maven Base 4-piston hydraulic discs with 200 mm SRAM Centerline rotors at both ends.
- Battery and speed: 800 Wh, integrated and removable, rated by the brand for up to 169 km in Eco mode, 6 h to charge; top assisted speed of 45 km/h by Aventon's figure once the factory setting is changed.
- Rolling stock: Maxxis Minion DHF 29 x 2.5 in and DHR II 29 x 2.4 in EXO tires, tubeless ready, an X-Fusion Manic dropper (150 or 170 mm) and a 136 kg maximum load.
Who it suits
Experienced trail riders who want a carbon e-MTB with 4-piston brakes for steep, technical descents and long days of climbing, in sizes Small to Extra Large.
Good to know
- Range is the brand's figure; speed, hills, rider weight, tire pressure and cold all change it. How to estimate your range.
- Ships free anywhere in Canada (no P.O. boxes).
- Aventon rates the Ultro X by peak output only and does not publish a continuous wattage.
