Comfort leads the design of the Velotric Discover 3, a step-through commuter with an air fork, a suspension seatpost, swept-back handlebars and an adjustable stem. It is for riders who log long hours in the saddle and want to sit upright on a cushioned bike.

Highlights

  • Internal-rotor hub motor: 750 W with 1100 W peak output and 75 Nm of torque, plus a throttle.
  • 730 Wh battery: 48V 15.2Ah with Samsung/LG 21700 cells, rated by the brand for up to 129 km on pedal assist or 105 km on throttle.
  • Switchable sensor: a button swaps between torque and cadence modes; Ride Tuning in the app adjusts motor response (see how torque and cadence sensors differ).
  • Speed: assist is set to 32 km/h out of the box and adjusts from 19 to 45 km/h where permitted, by the brand's figure.
  • Suspension, brakes and tires: 80 mm air fork with lockout, Tektro hydraulic discs on 180 mm rotors and 27.5 x 2.4 in Kenda puncture-resistant tires.
  • Daily kit: Shimano 8-speed gearing, full fenders, a rear rack, a 500-lumen headlight and turn signals; 200 kg maximum load, 28 kg bike weight.

Who it suits

Riders who commute or cruise on pavement, bike paths and light gravel and would rather step through a frame than swing a leg over.
