The Heybike Mars 3.0 folds in half and still rides on full suspension: a 65 mm hydraulic fork, a Horst-link rear end and 20 x 4.0 in fat tires. Folded, it measures 38.2 x 19.7 x 33.1 in, small enough for a car trunk or a storage closet between commutes and trail rides.
Highlights
- Rear hub motor: 750 W sustained, 1400 W peak and 95 N·m of torque, with a torque sensor and a half-twist throttle.
- 624 Wh removable battery: certified to UL 2271 and rated by Heybike for up to 105 km; a full charge takes 5–7 h.
- Speed: set to 32 km/h with the throttle active out of the box; turning the throttle off opens a top speed of 45 km/h, by the brand's figure.
- Brakes and gears: hydraulic discs with 2.0 mm thickened rotors and a Shimano Altus 8-speed drivetrain.
- Built to carry: a 200 kg maximum total load and a rear rack rated for 45 kg on a 6061 aluminum alloy frame; the bike weighs 31.8 kg.
- Weather: Heybike rates the battery, motor, display and controller IP65.
