The Capital Pathway
The National Capital Commission (NCC) says the Capital Pathway includes over 200 km of off-road, multi-use pathways, extending from Gatineau Park through Ottawa–Gatineau and into the National Capital Greenbelt; the NCC is responsible for 236 km of the network. It connects to the Trans Canada Trail, and the Outaouais pathways are part of the Route verte network. Share the Road Cycling Coalition ranks Ottawa a Platinum Bicycle Friendly Community, an award only Ottawa and Waterloo hold in Ontario.
Distance, then climbing
On rides that long, start with watt-hours. The Taubik Blackburn 275T has a 706 Wh Samsung battery (Taubik lists up to 100 km), a torque sensor, 27.5 x 2.35 in CST hybrid all-terrain tires and an 80 mm RST Blaze coil fork on a step-thru frame. Apart from the paths along the Ottawa River, the NCC describes the Gatineau side of the network as “very hilly”. There, a mid-drive helps: the Himiway A7 Pro runs an Ananda M100 mid-drive and torque sensor through a Shimano Alivio 9-speed, with a 120 mm SR Suntour X1 Boost fork and an air rear shock.
Ottawa winters
Environment Canada climate normals (1991–2020) for the Ottawa airport record a January daily average of −10.0 °C, 76.4 days a year that never climb above 0 °C, 231.9 cm of snowfall and 101.6 days with 5 cm or more of snow on the ground. The NCC leaves most of its network uncleared. Some sections are cleared for it by the City of Ottawa and Ville de Gatineau, among them the Rideau Canal Eastern Pathway (Colonel By Drive, Laurier Bridge to Hog's Back) and Western Pathway (Queen Elizabeth Driveway, Laurier Bridge to Dow's Lake). For snow, the Taubik Tour S combines 26 x 4.0 in Kenda Juggernaut fat tires, a 720 Wh battery and a low step-through frame; see fat tire e-bikes and our winter storage guide.
Weekend Bikedays
Each season from May to October, the NCC periodically reserves some of its parkways for active use, making nearly 20 km available, such as Kichi Zībī Mīkan from Vimy Place to Carling Avenue. It has created car-free experiences on the parkways since 1970.

Questions
Do you deliver e-bikes to Ottawa and Gatineau?
Yes. Shipping is free across Canada, so orders for Ottawa and for Gatineau cost nothing to deliver. Send the bike to your home or straight to a local bike shop you book for assembly. We can't deliver to P.O. boxes, and someone has to sign when it arrives.
How long does an e-bike take to reach Ottawa?
Count on 1–3 business days of processing once the order is confirmed, then 2–7 business days of shipping depending on location. A tracking number arrives by email when the bike leaves. On long trips, tracking may show no new scan for up to 5 days; that is normal.
Is there an Ottawa e-bike store where I can test ride?
No. Fast Ebikes is an online store only: no Ottawa showroom, no test rides and no pickup. Product pages list the specs each brand publishes, such as battery in Wh, motor, tires and weight, so you can line bikes up against each other before you order.
Which e-bike handles an Ottawa winter?
Wide tires on a bike you can pedal. The Ottawa airport averages 231.9 cm of snow a year (Environment Canada, 1991–2020), and most NCC pathways are not cleared. The Taubik Tour S rolls on 26 x 4.0 in Kenda Juggernaut fat tires with a torque sensor and a 720 Wh battery.
Who puts my e-bike together in Ottawa?
Either you or a shop of your choosing. You can have the order shipped directly to a local bike shop you book for assembly. If it comes home instead, film or photograph the box before opening it, then check the frame, wheels and battery before you build it.
