Where Saskatoon riders go
The Meewasin Valley Authority describes the Meewasin Trail as more than 105 km along both sides of the South Saskatchewan River, winding under the bridges and through parks and natural areas, inside the city and beyond it. The Trans Canada Trail shares 20 km of the Meewasin route through Saskatoon.
The City calls Saskatoon "The City of Bridges". The Chief Mistawasis Bridge, opened in 2018, carries a 2-metre bikeway on its north side and a 3.5-metre multi-use pathway on its south side. Every February and May the City holds BYXE Week, celebrating people who make cycling part of their commute year-round.
Snow, cold and cleared trails
For the Diefenbaker airport station, Environment Canada climate normals (1991–2020) give a January daily average of −15.4 °C and 91.0 cm of snowfall a year, spread over 57.1 days. The City describes a winter city with an average of 5 or 6 snow events of at least 5 cm each season. After each one it grades the Meewasin Trail, park pathways with street lighting and bridge walkways within 48 hours, and it aims to clear about 14 km of crusher-dust paths in naturalized parks within 48 hours of the snow ending.
The City's winter cycling tips say fat or studded tires give the best traction, which makes fat tire e-bikes the natural pick for riding past the first snow.

Questions
Can I get an e-bike shipped to Saskatoon?
Yes, and shipping is free. Saskatoon orders get the same service as the rest of Canada: delivery to your door, or to a bike shop you pick and book to assemble the bike. We can't ship to P.O. boxes, and someone has to sign when the box arrives.
How many days does delivery to Saskatoon take?
Allow 1–3 business days for us to process the order and 2–7 business days of shipping after that, depending on where you live. An email with your tracking number follows once the order is processed. A gap of up to 5 days without a new scan is normal on a cross-country trip.
Do you have a showroom in Saskatoon?
No. We are an online store with no showroom, test rides or pickup anywhere, Saskatoon included. To compare bikes, use the specs on the product pages, from battery size in Wh to tire size, plus weight and suspension where the brand states them. Questions before you order can go to sales@fastebikes.ca.
What kind of e-bike works in a Saskatoon winter?
The City of Saskatoon's winter cycling tips say fat or studded tires give the best traction, and the City grades the Meewasin Trail within 48 hours after a snow event. A fat tire e-bike on 26 x 4.0 in tires, such as the Taubik Tour S, fits that advice.
How long is the Meewasin Trail?
The Meewasin Valley Authority says the trail runs more than 105 km along both sides of the South Saskatchewan River, through parks and natural areas in and outside Saskatoon. The Trans Canada Trail uses 20 km of it through the city.
Who assembles an e-bike I order online?
Either you do, at home, or a bike shop in Saskatoon does: choose the shop, book it, and we ship the box there. When it arrives, photograph or film the box before opening it, and check every part before the build starts.
