South and north: two riding climates
Environment Canada's 1991–2020 climate normals show the gap. January averages −3.6 °C in Windsor and −3.5 °C in downtown Toronto, against −10.0 °C in Ottawa, −12.7 °C in Sudbury and −15.8 °C in Kenora. Days that never rise above 0 °C number 43.0 a year in Windsor, 76.4 in Ottawa, 98.6 in Sudbury and 117.3 in Kenora. Annual snowfall climbs from 114.5 cm at Toronto Pearson to 231.9 cm in Ottawa and 263.4 cm in Sudbury.
Southern Ontario: hybrid tires for most of the year
With about six weeks of sub-zero days in Windsor or Toronto, a commuter or hybrid e-bike covers most of the calendar. The Taubik Blackburn 275T has a step-thru frame, 27.5 x 2.35 in CST C1820 hybrid all-terrain tires, an RST Blaze coil fork with 80 mm of travel and a torque sensor, plus a 706 Wh Samsung battery with room for an optional second 14.7Ah pack.
Northern Ontario: fat tires for months of snow
Sudbury and Kenora spend roughly three to four months a year with daytime highs at or below 0 °C, and Sudbury gets more than twice Pearson's snowfall. The Taubik Tour S rides on 26 x 4.0 in Kenda Juggernaut fat tires and pairs a low step-through frame and a torque sensor with a 720 Wh Samsung battery and Zoom dual-piston hydraulic disc brakes. More choices: fat tire e-bikes.
Ontario's long routes
Ontario holds 6,000 km of the 28,400 km Trans Canada Trail, the longest provincial section in the trail organization's own figures. The Great Lakes Waterfront Trail is a signed route of more than 3,600 km linking 170 communities and First Nations along the Canadian shores of the Great Lakes, and the Greenbelt Route adds 475 km of signed cycling from Niagara to Northumberland. On trips that long, compare battery Wh first.

How delivery works in Ontario
Delivery is free to any Ontario address our carriers serve; we don't ship to P.O. boxes or remote communities, so call us before ordering if you live in one. Each order is processed within 1–3 business days, then transit takes 2–7 business days depending on location. The bike goes to your home or to a local bike shop you choose and book for assembly. There is no pickup, every package is insured, and someone must sign for it at delivery. Read our Ontario e-bike rules guide before your first ride, or browse all our e-bikes.
Questions
Where can I buy an electric bike in Ontario?
Here, online. Fast Ebikes has no showroom anywhere in Ontario, so we offer no test rides and no pickup. Order on this page and the bike ships free to your Ontario address, or straight to a local bike shop you choose and book for assembly. Product pages list specs such as motor type, battery Wh, tires and weight.
Which e-bike suits northern Ontario winters?
Start with the tires. Sudbury averages 263.4 cm of snow a year and 98.6 days that stay at or below 0 °C (Environment Canada, 1991–2020), so a fat tire bike makes sense there. The Taubik Tour S, for example, rolls on 26 x 4.0 in Kenda Juggernaut tires and has a low step-through frame that is easy to get on in winter boots.
What are the longest bike routes in Ontario?
Three stand out. Ontario has 6,000 km of the Trans Canada Trail; the Great Lakes Waterfront Trail runs more than 3,600 km past 170 communities and First Nations; and the Greenbelt Route covers 475 km of signed cycling from Niagara to Northumberland. For long days on any of them, a bigger battery and a comfortable frame matter most.
How long does e-bike delivery take in Ontario?
Plan on 1–3 business days for us to process the order and 2–7 business days for the carrier, depending on where in Ontario you live. We email a tracking number when it ships. A long haul can show no new tracking scan for up to 5 days, which is normal.
Can a bike shop assemble my e-bike?
Yes: you can have the order delivered to a local bike shop you choose, and you book the assembly with that shop. If it comes to your home instead, film the box before you open it, then check the frame, the wheels and the battery before you build it.
